Lake Forest College

Admissions Viewbook

Working with Lake Forest College admissions and recruiting staff, Smith wrote, designed and art directed the photography for the school’s Viewbook. The impactful, oversized piece prioritized students’ educational outcomes—rewarding careers—by showcasing the benefits of the school’s outstanding career services program, comprehensive internship opportunities and accessible faculty.

Exterior Signage
and Donor Recognition

Chicago Booth's Harper Center

Chicago Booth selected Smith to design exterior signage and donor recognition elements for its new facility. Smith studied the building’s entrances and exits to develop a range of signage ideas and materials for the school. Ultimately, dimensional steel lettering was chosen for the center’s exterior signage. The clean letter forms reinforce the building’s modern aesthetic.

Northwestern
Lake Forest Hospital

Nursing Annual Report

The Nursing department had stories, data and goals to report—apart from the hospital—that support its prestigious Magnet designation. Smith designed an interactive HTML-based annual report that reinforces their exceptional work and reporting data. The microsite is housed on the hospital’s site, and can also be shared via portable USB drives in order to maximize access for readers.

Loyola Medicine

Transplant Center Branding

When Loyola Medicine wanted to raise awareness of its top-rated Transplant Center, Smith created a branded, multicomponent program geared to two populations: patients and referring physicians. An identity system was created for four specialties—lung, liver, kidney and heart transplant. By using the same, illustrative design style, the specialty identities work together (in department-wide materials) and on their own (for targeted communications).

Components: patient diary notebook, folder, coasters, monarch stationery, binder, and promotional items
